The Farm:
Finca Santa Clara is situated on the southern slopes of the Antigua Valley, between 1550-1890 masl, and is bestowed with extraordinary volcanic soil, ideal for specialty coffee growth. The plantation is managed to achieve optimal sun exposure, allowing the coffee trees to produce exquisite and aromatic beans. Harvesting, processing, and washing are done by hand on-site, which gives the beans a distinct blue-green hue. After, they're dried naturally on patios and African beds. Managed and owned by Ricardo Zelaya, a fourth-generation coffee farmer, he has dedicated himself to social initiatives, specifically a scholarship fund for recipients chosen based on academic performance and financial need. The fund covers up to 70%, including tuition, books, supplies, and uniforms. To learn more about him, his coffee, and the fund, please visit: http://ricardozelayacoffee.com/
